The Memphis Restaurant Association is heartbroken to share the passing of Kimberly “Kim” Grisanti (Nov. 30, 1967 – Dec. 28, 2025).
Kim was a devoted champion of hospitality and a beloved presence in our region’s restaurant community. Alongside her husband, Alex Grisanti, Kim helped lead Elfo Grisanti’s—a restaurant rooted in the long-standing Grisanti family tradition in this area, a legacy that spans generations of Memphis hospitality.
Those who knew Kim describe a woman who led with joy and sincerity—known affectionately as “Boo Boo,” she carried a spirit that was vibrant, generous, and deeply people-centered. Her warmth wasn’t performative; it was the kind of genuine welcome that makes someone feel seen the moment they walk through the door.
Kim also understood what it takes to sustain a restaurant: the long hours, the behind-the-scenes care, the constant problem-solving, and the steady commitment to your team and your guests. The work she poured into the hospitality world helped shape experiences and memories for countless diners—and created opportunity for the people who make this industry run.
On behalf of the MRA, we extend our deepest condolences to Alex, their family, their team, and all who loved Kim. We will remember her for the light she brought into our community and the legacy of hospitality she helped carry forward.
With sympathy and gratitude,
The Memphis Restaurant Association
