After reviewing the attendee list for Governor’s Conference and current participation levels on the motorcoach for the free transportation, I’ve written this letter to ask our ccolleagues from across West Tennessee to consider a last-minute booking for the conference and riding the bus with us. Even if you were unable to attend the conference, I would appreciate you forwarding this letter to your contacts in tourism and hospitality throughout your area. Hopefully, we can increase our representation for West Tennessee in the next couple days.
Thank you in advance!
Industry Friends,
I’m writing to you about the Governor’s Conference on Hospitality and Tourism in Kingsport, September 17–19. Some of you are registered (thank you!), but West Tennessee and Memphis have very few attendees. I’d like to ask you to take another look and see if you can make it this year. And don’t miss the option for FREE transportation from Jackson to Kingsport and back.
West Tennessee is blessed with unique hospitality operations and a culture that sets us apart. For our region to grow, we must have a stronger presence at the state level — and the Governor’s Conference is one of the best ways to do that. As my friend Shawn Danko of Kooky Canuck says: “If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.”
I know we’re all busy. None of us clock out after 40 hours — we carry the weight of our guests, our teams, and our dreams. But I also know the encouragement that comes from this conference: celebrating victories and realizing we don’t face our struggles alone.
That’s why we’ve partnered with local businesses and associations to provide a FREE motorcoach via Anchor Transportation, leaving Casey Jones Village on Tuesday, September 16 and returning Friday, September 19. You may recall Knoxville’s association did something similar for Memphis a few years ago.
Conference registration closes this Sunday, and seats on the bus must be reserved by September 7. Please don’t let West Tennessee miss this opportunity to have a strong voice at the table. I hope to see you on the bus and in Kingsport.
