Important Update on Health Department Inspections
We wanted to inform you of an important update shared by one of our MRA Board members following a recent meeting with the Health Department. Effective immediately, the Health Department will be conducting restaurant inspections during evening hours and on Saturdays.
To help answer any questions you may have, a Health Department representative will be available at our upcoming MRA Golf Tournament on Wednesday, October 23.
Additionally, we are planning a webinar before the end of the year featuring Kasia Smith-Alexander, R.S., Bureau Director of Environmental Health Services and Sustainability for the Shelby County Health Department.

Reminder: 2025 MRA Board Election Voting
If you’re a paid MRA member, you should have received a link to vote for the 2025 Board of Directors in your email. To locate it, search for “Election Buddy” in your inbox. If you still can’t find the link, please reach out to Sally for assistance. Voting will be open until October 31.
If you’re not currently a paid member but join before October 31, you’ll be eligible to vote in this year’s election. Don’t miss this chance to have your voice heard!
Reminder: Participate in the 2024 General Election!
We enthusiastically encourage civic participation and want to remind you there are just a few weeks left until the 2024 General Election on November 5.
In Tennessee, early voting started October 16 and will run through October 31. Those wishing to vote absentee must request an absentee ballot by October 29.
For a list of early voting locations in Shelby County, click [HERE]. Most polling sites will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Please note that voting locations are closed on Sundays.
